Calculations
One of the main rules of investing is the same as the rules of war. You must do your homework and do all the math calculations. You need to do the math yourself and do it well. The leader that does a lot of calculations will have a much better chance of winning over the leader that makes few calculations.
In business, so many times, people get so excited about a new product or idea. They often get carried away in the emotion of the product or the people around them. This is a mistake. The ideas that make the most sense must make sense mathematically. People often spend thousands of dollars on ideas that they haven't even put the numbers to. If the numbers aren't there the idea should be abandoned. A great idea should have the profit margins that you need to make money. If margins are not there, keep looking.
The bottom line is that the person that makes a lot of calculations and does it often will more likely win over someone that doesn't make the calculations.
