Decision Making
Sun Tzu said, “The quality of decision is like the well-timed swoop of a falcon which enables it to strike and destroy its victim. Therefore the good fighter will be terrible in his onset, and prompt in his decision.”
In business, decisions must be well timed and made boldly and promptly. Leaders that are afraid to make decisions will bring weakness to the entire company. Leaders and employees may constantly be gathering data for analysis. The effective leader will known when to share information. The timing needs to be on. Many business leaders constantly gather data and yet opportunities pass them by constantly because they do not understand things well enough to time them.
Many people say that it is impossible to time things. People often say that if you can time the market you are a genius and that it is so difficult it isn't worth trying. This attitude is fatalistic and it is taught in many business schools around the nation. The truth is that many people are good at analyzing data and markets. They make good decisions and make a lot of money for themselves and clients. Many people do it without fanfare, are wealthy, and are never heard of. Like the warrior winning with ease, people don't exactly advertise their abilities to make millions without doing a lot of work.
