Keeping Your Wits
When the battle is underway, there appears to be chaos. Not everything goes as planned. There are a lot of things going on at once. Under these difficult circumstances it is important to stay calm and your wits about you. Some people may panic and make poor choices. A good leader should think clearly and calmly and without delay.
In business, there are leaders that panic and do the wrong thing. There are employees that make decisions incorrectly because they are afraid of the chaos. It is important to maintain a business climate that follows rules and procedures in the face of difficulty. A lot of companies will have emergency rehearsals. The point of a rehearsal is to take the poor decision making out of the moment that may come. If you spend time going over what you will do and practice, you will be able to stick with the correct plan of action in turmoil. The key point is to practice, practice, practice. It also helps, a lot, to have an experienced general.
