Kill the Enemy
Sun Tzu said, “Now in order to kill the enemy, our men must be roused to anger; that there may be advantage from defeating the enemy, they must have their rewards.”
In business, this has an application. To seriously take a competitor out, the management must have some real motivation or financial rewards for the employees. In most companies, the people have some type of ownership stake. This ownership stake makes the employees motivated to make the company win. There are large financial rewards, at stake, should the company do well. This will compel the company to do all that it can to make it and to do it being lean and efficient.
Companies that don't arouse their employees to beat out the competition will never do so. Financial rewards and managerial communication must be present for the employees to get that killer instinct that makes the company win.
